GW3s were looking to continue their fine form from last weeks dominant victory and started the game as the much stronger team, creating many chances and thought they had gone 1 nil up early in the 1st half though a superb diving goal from Amit, only to be ruled out by Captain Zigs honesty explaining to the umpire that the ball had hit Amits foot, despite him not feeling it happen and not noticed by the Umpires, so goal disallowed (we obviously didnt learn from last time this happened with owning up); now most oppos would have been very thankful at this point and would have beared this in mind for future key events in the game.

As the first half continued GW3s pilled on the pressure and a pin point through ball from Tom found Franklin in space who drove the ball into the D, 1 on 1 with the oppo keeper, surely a certain goal, but the keeper closed down the space and tackled Franklin masterfully; chance wasted.

Several chances later and some fantastic saves from the oppo keeper, against the run of play, the oppo managed to score, with a goal that could have been prevented; 1-0 down. This seemed to be the spark that GW3 needed, creating 2 goals in quick succession, the first from a hit on the oppos 23, taken by Cookie, driving into the D, not being closed down by the oppo, so took a shot, which looked like it was going away from the goal, only to hit Franklins stick, who wonderfully deflected the ball through the keepers legs into the goal. The second GW3 goal came from Captain Zig, who picked up the ball from a Mason pass in the oppos D and skillfully and calmly placed the ball cooley into the far corner, ending the 1st half 2-1 to GW3s.

The 2nd half was a bit more even with play and chances at either end, although GW3s did have the better of the chances and were denied a clear penalty flick, when Franklin received the ball in the D, taking it away from the keeper, at which point the keeper took out Franklin, which was not spotted by the nearest umpire and the other Umpire decided from inside GW3s half that the keeper had actually got the ball first, despite that clearly not being the case, nothing given and no owning up by the oppo, despite Captain Zigs honesty in the 1st half with the disallowed GW3 wonder goal.

As the 2nd half continued the oppo were awarded a flick (must be nice to get one of those awarded) for a clear foul, which they put away into the bottom left hand corner.

Despite further chances by GW3 and a fair few attacking short corners, which GW3 were unable to convert, the game ended 2-2.
