The game took place under a light drizzle with GW looking to take the lead with some early pressure. A couple missed chances from GW and dominant territory and creativity coming from both fullbacks Jessie Bradley and Daniel Hofford and a disallowed goal and a chance hitting the side netting which captain Aaron Elliott celebrated frivolously leading to his DOTD vote. This pressure ultimately led to a goal from captain Aaron Elliot with a super diving goal to put it past the Sevenoaks keeper.
Gravesham and Welcome continued to pile on the pressure until late in the first half Sevenoaks were on the break and won a short corner. This short corner ultimately led to a poor drag flick which trickled past Jack and hit Richard’s foot on the line. Penalty flick. Jack had a chance to redeem himself but unfortunately the P-flick was too much for the Mac. And GW went into the half undeservedly drawing.
Sevenoaks cranked up the pressure in the second half with multiple chances and short corners and Jack had a chance to redeem himself with some brilliant saves including a diving stick save. The handsome keeper had kept GW in it. Not only Jack was making some superb saves but also Si Bradley who had some brilliant on the line stick saves to prevent some certain goals in short corners. GW were able to secure a foothold in the half and started to dominate again and a brilliant ball from MOTM Daniel Hofford found Michael who then sent Dan Knight through on goal and smashed it into the bottom corner. 2-1 GW. The game then started to become more open and another cracking ball from Daniel Hofford split open the Sevenoaks pressure and set Dan Knight down the line again who squared it to number 100 for a tap-in.
GW left the game 3-1 up and closing the gap on promotion spots.
On to the next game against BBHC.
